Bible Provides a True History of God’s Universe

This presentation looks at what Jesus and the apostles said about the O.T. and N.T Scriptures; whether these were historical characters and events.

The history that Genesis outlines is foundational to the whole ‘big picture’ of the Gospel. The genealogies given in both the O.T. and N.T. are there for a purpose and the way they are given leaves NO possibility of the universe existing for billions of years before Adam.

Genesis is the foundational book of the Bible. Is it any wonder that Satan would do his utmost to destroy the foundations? Evolution has been one of Satan’s greatest ploys to destroy the authority of Scripture. God however has raised up ministries such as Creation Ministries to defend Genesis and the Creation account and I would recommend their 96-minute documentary Evolution’s Achilles’ Heels as a valuable resource to help address this important issue.

Let’s look at twelve important facts concerning the Scriptures.  I will expand on each of these, looking largely at the words of Jesus and then the apostles.

The Bible’s essential historical events are: 1. Creation of a perfect world. 2. The Fall of Man brings death and a cursed world. 3. God judged mankind with a worldwide flood. 4. God confused the languages at Babel creating the nations. 5. God’s covenant with Abraham to create His nation, Israel and to prepare the way for His final solution. 6. God sent His Son, Jesus to redeem mankind from the sin of Adam. Jesus death on the Cross and His resurrection changed history forever – B.C and A.D. 7. Pentecost and the birth of the Church. 8. At the appointed time, Jesus will return again to rule and reign from Jerusalem and a restored Israel (1,000 year Millenial reign). Final white throne judgement and then a new heaven and a new earth.
